Weekly CAA Field Hockey Report — Oct. 29

PLAYER/ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:
Esmee Peet • Delaware
Zeewolde, Netherlands/RSG Slingerbos, Fr., Midfielder

Peet continued her outstanding freshman season as she lead the Blue Hens to two key road shutout victories last week. Peet registered her first career hat trick and added one assist in Delaware’s 6-0 win at Hofstra, then added another goal in a 3-0 victory on the road versus Northeastern. The Netherlands native helped assure that the 5-0, league-leading Blue Hens earned at least a share of the CAA regular season title heading into their showdown with Drexel on Friday. Peet not only became the first UD freshman to post a hat trick since Oct. 6, 1998, but also became the first Blue Hen to finish a game with seven points since the 2009 season. Over 16 games — all starts — the freshman midfielder is second on her team with 10 goals and 24 points and needs one more point to set a new program record for a freshman.
